DHAKA (Reuters) - The United States said on Saturday that it would offer Bangladesh close to $1 billion in aid over the next five years.
A U.S. Embassy statement said that the money would go towards alleviating poverty and malnutrition, as well as family planning and the fight against infectious diseases.
How is the United States still able to spend money it doesn't have? I get that this is money that will eventually be owed back to us, but we're spending money that doesn't exist. If my bank account has $1 in it, I can't buy something that costs $1.50. If our debt cap is many billions of dollars, how can we spend another billion somewhere?
This is the kind of crap that has us in this financial crisis.
