I
was talking to someone today about PepĂ© Le Pew—centered around the idea
expressed by Dave Chappelle—being inappropriate and a completely horrible
example for children. A lot of cartoons expressed some very inappropriate
content, but Le Pew’s stands out.
The
perverse skunk constantly chased what he couldn’t have, resorted to tactics
which would land most men in court and/or prison, and while ultimately failing,
refused to accept loss and continued dangerously in his pursuit of the
poontang.
Pepé
once tried to take the pussy [cat] from another cat. He resorted to painting
his stripe black so he looked less like a skunk, but still got beat up by the
male cat. Le Pew determined it was in his best interests to sneak in and paint
a white stripe down the male cat’s back to make him look like a skunk. When he
encountered the female cat, she was running from the skunked-out male cat and
Le Pew rescued her. He eventually got splashed in a puddle and the female cat
figured out the truth about Pepé and the male cat.
Just
the fact this entire ordeal was even portrayed on a cartoon aimed at children
is ridiculous to me. Nevermind that most children don’t quite understand it
yet, but it becomes more apparent with age exactly what PepĂ© did…
Chased
the pussy by any means necessary…
I just wanted to share the memory.
